Purple Hibiscus has been a great book so far. There have been many highlights and depressing chapters in the book. I look at the book like as it was a life lesson story. They have been many life lessons that I have got from the book. I try to look beyond the text in the book. I think the text in the book is a gateway to something much greater. As I read I try to get something much more than a shared story.
I highlight points and passages that I think are important to the story and the overall picture. I usually try to write some points or my opinion to the underlined sections. If I don't understand a passage, I usually re-read the passage. If I find a point that I can add to my side or entree, I usually stop and add it to my side/entree. Overall, my reading has been successful.
I think that "reading between the lines" is a good technique to use while reading, especially in Purple Hibiscus. I also think that stopping and making note of a significant part of the book is a great idea.
